The two biggest European producers of peat – "Vapo Oy" and "Klasmann - Deilmann GmbH" – founded a joint enterprise in Lithuania, UAB "Bioenergija LT". The aim of such co-operation is to increase significantly the use of local biofuel in Lithuania. UAB "Bioenergija LT" produces biofuel, including peat and combustion wood, and sells it on the Lithuanian market.

The aim of such co-operation is to increase significantly the use of local biofuel in Lithuania. UAB “Bioenergija LT” trades in fuel peat, extracted from peatbogs belonging to the partners. Furthermore, UAB “Bioenergija LT” offers wood fuel in Lithuania.

With the application of long-term successful experience from their countries, the founders of the enterprise aim at becoming one of the leaders of biofuel production in Lithuania. A keystone of this goal is a responsible attitude towards the preservation of the environment and the use of local fuel sources for the generation of energy. “Bioenergija LT” will also expand its activities in other projects related to the production of biomass and biofuel.
