Energy Milled Peat

The largest part of production of “Bioenergija LT” consists of energy milled peat, extracted from highly decomposed dark peat.

Energy milled peat is produced by crumbling the upper layer of the peatbog and allowing it to dry on the surface. There are particles of various sizes in crumbled fuel peat, but for the most part, it is composed of fine powdery particles.

 

 

 

Energy milled peat is combusted in industrial boiler houses and boiler houses of larger objects, after specially adapting furnaces for this fuel. Calorific value is close to that of wood; ash formation level is low.

“Bioenergija LT” supplies energy milled peat with the following characteristics:

• Average moisture: approximately 45%;
• Energy value: 2.8 MWh/t, i.e., approximately 9.9 MJ/kg;
• Fuel suitable for use both in powerful electricity generation plants and in large boiler houses.
